With the list of Xbox
360 Mods Growing each and every month, talking
about all of them here would only cause everyone confusion.
Instead I am going to talk about, and
make a suggestion on which Xbox 360 ModChips you SHOULD buy,
as opposed to the long list of Xbox
360 Mods that you should stay away
from.
If I were
to list all of the Xbox 360 Mod Chips that I think aren't up
to par, my list would include 20
or more modchips currently available for the
Xbox 360 console. A few of the more
famous Xbox 360 modchis, that I still urge you to
stay away from would include chips like the
Xtreme 360 mod chip, or the Aladdin 360. Included in my
DO NOT BUY list would also be the
underdog 360 and any type of Firmware
chip.
I make my
statements not based on the quality of the modchips. They are
all good Xbox 360 mod chips as far as modchips go. Not one of
them is manufactured incorrectly or is made using cheap parts
or components. No... The trouble I have with these chips is
that they are simply FIRMWARE chips. By firmware chips I mean
that they replace the firmware of your XBox 360 DVD Drive
by way of being soldered into place.
Now, virtually all modchips need to be soldered
to the main board of your xbox 360 console, but
there are modchips that don't simply re-write the
firmware on your Xbox 360 - Making it detectable, but they
actual inject their special instructions - and then
turn off - so as to avoid
detection.
For this
reason, when you're looking
at all of the Xbox 360 Mod
Chips available. We would strongly urge you to
look at the All360 or Globe 360 modchips. You'll save
yourself a lot fo headaches and also from
potentially being blocked from Xbox Live (the heart of online gaming
when it comes to Xbox) and allow you
to continue to play all of your
games.
Of the two
choices - the All 360 or the Globe 360 mod chips, I recommend
you take a look at the All
360 modchip. Not because it is better -
in fact, it is equally the same as the Globe
360 in all features and functions. But it
is priced at a much lower price point than the Globe
360 (about $20.00 less in fact) making it
more affordable for the identical features and
functions.
While other
Xbox 360 mods are perhaps cheaper, you do get what you pay
for. Most website do carry all varieties, including
the firmware upgrade chips, because there are
customers that want to save a few dollors
and have their Xbox 360 modchips, without knowing the risks.
And in the case of a firmware upgrade
chip, you end up getting a chip that does only a
simple firmware upgrade and you risk blacklisting your
Xbox 360 console from Xbox live all
together.
